The institute of computer technology at the Technische Universität Wien with its 40 employees represents a strong, flexible, experienced and scientifically wide basis for the successful execution of building management system aspects of mediafacade.net. For many years significant international research and development projects have been managed and carried out by the institute, which has exceptional infrastructure for industrial collaboration.
The institute has active research groups in the fields of embedded systems, security, communications and automation networks, architectural automation, databases, energy technology, internet technology, chip design, multimedia, software design, wireless technology, robotics and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities of the Institute in mediafacade.net include integration of architectural automation - and particularly building automation systems in media facade. The integration of media and architectural concepts as well as the conjunction of architectural, urban, and economic constraints is done in collaboration the department for architecture theory, technical university Vienna, witch is also responsible for the project documentation and publication.
